Fentons Creamery & Restaurant – Oakland, California

Going to California, we like to go for ice cream, especially during the hot summer days. We accidentally found Fentons, and after mentioning it to family and friends… I guess we’re the last to know about this awesome place!

When we found Fentons, it was an “in between” meal, so we came in for a snack. Our snack, we shared a Half Crab Sandwich Combo which was half a crab meat sandwich which was really fresh and delicious.

You really tasted the crab, and the sandwich plus condiments didn’t take away from the fresh crab flavour.

For dessert, we shared a seasonal ice cream, which was blood orange ice cream and we topped it off with melted marshmallows and it wasn’t too sweet or anything. It was in perfect harmony — one of the best ice cream desserts we ever had! I think just to try new things, we’ll always try whatever is on their seasonal menu.. so, you know it’s in season!

Sun’s BBQ Restaurant – Calgary, Alberta

Chinese food at it’s best! I like going here for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and all meals in between! For this particular instance, we went almost as a midnight snack, as we picked up people from the airport on a late flight. Their food is a little greasy, but it makes it look pretty and it tastes good too. It’s not overwhelmed by grease.

There is a wide array of options on the menu, so I’m sure you’ll find something for any appetite. I personally really love the shanghai noodles, but that’s just me and Chinese food. They do an excellent job at making it — but it’s a dish that is relatively simple.

Dinner at Sun Chiu Kee is really good, be sure to check out the dinner review too!

IKEA Restaurant – Calgary, Alberta

This morning, we went to IKEA, we needed to pick some stuff up from IKEA, and made a morning out of it! 🙂 Of course, we started by arriving 10ish, just in time for breakfast!! Breakfast at IKEA has always been affordable, and it’s not bad for what you’re getting, and the amount you’re receiving!

We of course have the $1 breakfast meal, and add things to it!! The breakfast includes Scrambled eggs, sausages, and home fries. The eggs are always a little funny, but it’s pretty good with the remedy for all weird food — ketchup! I must say, I really enjoy the home fries (potato chucks), and for me, instead of ketchup, I like the maple syrup that goes with pancakes! I know, it’s sounds funny… but, my husband likes it with Ranch dressing… so, you decide who is weirder!

Today, my addition thing that I had with my $1 breakfast was Organic crepes stuffed with spinach and cheese. It looked a little funny, but it tasted good. My husband had Bacon and French Toast.

The French toast was interesting… it was dense, but it made up for it as it was a Cinnamon Toast! 🙂 If you’re going for Breakfast, be sure to be there before 11AM!

Roy’s Waikiki Beach – Honolulu, Hawaii

We were on our honeymoon and we’ve always wanted to eat here — especially after watching “At the table with…” on the food network.

We made ourselves a nice reservation, and we were so happy we did. The environment was amazing, our server was knowledgeable and helpful, and best of all… the food was wonderful!!! It really made the dinner experience come together.

You must try Roy’s Melting Hot Chocolate Soufflé: Raspberry Coulis, Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, since it was magical!!! The food was cooked to perfection as everything else was!!

Serendipity 3 – Las Vegas, Nevada

The Serendipity 3 is located outside of the Caesars Palace, and it’s a wonderful place for lunch, or a snack… even a dinner! We went there for a late breakfast, early lunch – and it’s really a neat location.

You have the option to sit inside or outside, but unfortunately, when we asked for an outside table, they just ran out. Serendipity 3 becomes packed with hungry guests really quickly.

They serve everything from frozen hot chocolates, to sandwiches, and even hearty meat dishes – which allows them to serve all sorts of appetites and all different times of day!

I ordered the “High Heel Pump” with sweet potato fries and it was really tasty of a Sandwich. It tasted really light, and the portion size was enormous! I think it could have had more Prosciutto as I barely tasted it. It felt like it was overwhelmed with extra virgin olive oil and the tomatoes and cheese.

We also had the Skirt Steak with Steak Fries, and that was cooked to perfection! It was one of our more memorable dishes we had during our trip for lunch.

We realize that Serendipity 3 is known for it’s frozen hot chocolates, however, we weren’t in the mood for one that afternoon. We’ll be sure to try it out next time!
