Graze Food and Drink – Canmore, Alberta

Breakfast is the most important part of my day. I can’t do anything without breakfast and we stumbled into Graze Food & Drink as we watched a bunch of people leaving this restaurant super happy so we walked in and waited for the next table! The wait wasn’t bad as it was relatively consistent of people coming in and customers leaving. They did an amazing job staggering the kitchen with the customers!

Once I sat down, I ordered a normal coffee. It was one of those mornings where you really don’t want to deal with me until I have that boost of energy. I ordered their Braised Beef Brisket Benny and this was absolutely amazing! They had a few slices of thick brisket that was so tender and amazing. Stack that on top of my favourite go-to breakfast meal and I was so happy! This dish definitely doesn’t disappoint!

Then we couldn’t go without trying their Poutine and we settled for their Canadian Eh! poutine which was huge and hearty! In a large bowl put pieces of seasoned potatoes in with bacon and sausages, then put cheese curds on and cover it with their hollandaise sauce. It was divine! To top that off, they added a fried egg and it was rich, creamy, flavourful and just amazing! I’m not sure if it’s for everyone as it really left you feeling stuffed but an amazing way to start your day!

This place was spectacular! The food just makes you smile and it truly tastes as great as it looked. There’s nothing negative I can think of as everything added up made it a special time!

Rockin Robyns Diner – Edmonton, Alberta

I love diners and when I saw there was a 50’s inspired diner not far from me in Edmonton, Alberta I knew I had to keep this on my radar and make it there the first opportunity we had. A few weeks ago our friends that we travel with said they’d love to do a day-trip roadtrip with us and I asked them if Rockin Robyns Diner would be something they’re interested in and they were just as excited as I was! We got here and the place was still busy as it should be just after their lunch rush, and we waited about 20-25 minutes for the table. Not too bad as we can keep ourselves entertained!

I knew I had to eat a burger, and I burger I got! I tried their Great Canadian Burger which came out the size of my head! The patty was thick and juicy and very well seasoned! It was as though we were eating a mini-meatloaf in a burger. My burger was topped with back bacon, cheddar, cheese curds and baconnaise! It wasn’t as messy as you’d think it would be but it was massive and delicious! Our friends also devoured some sort of burgers as well.

We had also ordered some old style Strawberry Milkshakes because for my history and growning up adventures, I always had a strawberry milkshake. I think everyone just enjoys one with me as that’s our thing to do now. The milkshake was very delicious, still a thick and rich one but not as thick as I would have expected. The strawberry flavour was awesome and of course it was very pretty!

The only oddball order at our table was the Chicken and Waffles and I must say that was really good! The chicken was crispy on the outside and very tender and juicy on the inside. The sauce they used was perfect with an amazing waffle to accompany the chicken!

Overall, it was a fantastic stop to Rockin Robyn’s and we had a lot of fun there! The food was amzing, the portions sizes were huge, and the service was top-notch! We really wanted a piece of pie, even if it was one slice for all 4 of us to share.. however we were already rolling around as we were stuffed. We said next time, we’ll come back just for pie and coffee!

Le Fourmil – Canmore, Alberta

This post is actually very late. I’ve been here numerous of times since I’ve first been here. If you were to ask me my favourite bakery – this is it Le Fourmil is an amazing bakery in an great space. I’ve ordered my birthday cake from here, I’ve brought my friends here, my father-in-law, the list goes on.

This particular time I ordered their Almond Croissant and it’s an amazingly flaky croissant with a delicious almond topping with some filling. The croissant has a spectacular texture, and we’ve even tried their chocolate croissant and savoury ones. They’re all amazing.

I’ll never go to a little shop like this without ordering a latte. Their coffees are very tasty, not too strong but they take so much care in everything they make.

There’s plenty of parking here, they used to have a nice space for you to sit down in, but they have chairs outside if you need to eat your purchases right away. Their tarts, breads, pastries, everything is worth a try!! My best advice, keep going back to try everything!

Mountain Mercato – Canmore, Alberta

Lunch in the mountains is my way to wind down the city life. You’ll hear me say that a lot as I am quite a high energy and fast paced person. These trips helps me keep sane and keep in balance. We walked into a little store and turned the corner and found Mountain Mercato which was a little deli that we sat down at.

I sat down and ordered a Latte and it was so nice. The environment was comfortable and there were a lot of people that came down to this little gem for a quick bite to eat, or they took it to go. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon, and everything was really nice.

I know I ordered their Daily Special Panini, I started with their frittata, but they ran out so I went for their second best. I honestly can’t remember hat it was called, but the balance of the panini was amazing and with gooey cheese. It was delicious even and it even seemed healthy!

The other panini seems liked the perfect one to order as it was brunch. It was the Farmhouse Panini with egg, cheese and meat with seasonal vegetables. It was a perfect brunch in between bread!

This was a fun place to go, and you do need to be prepared to spend some time here. The food and coffee really hit the spot. The seats are limited but most people do take out.

Cacao 70 – Canmore, Alberta

I been trying to get to Cacao 70 for almost a year and I finally got an opportunity to go, and realized all the locations in Calgary are now closed. So we decided to just top off the gas and drive out to Canmore for lunch. Cacao 70 is located in a newer area of Canmore, and it’s a great location and I see a lot of potential here! I’m very excited for them as the place is comfortable with parking!

I ordered their Cacao 70 Signature Mocha and it was just delightful! It warmed me up immediately from the inside as it was nice and hot. I got my mocha with creamy milk chocolate and it was absolutely perfect!

We had to get a hot chocolate as you can’t be here without a chocolate drink, so we got a Spicy Hot Chocolate Torch which was a rich and decadent hot chocolate with torched marshmallows! There was a nice little kick in the hot chocolate as well!

I knew I wanted something sweet to eat and although I was thinking about waffles, I eneded up with their Strawberry & Cheesecake Crepe and the crepe was thin and beautiful, which wrapped a delicious cheesecake filling. There was an amazing berry sauce that topped the crepe and of course you can add a scoop of ice cream and smoother the crepe with chocolate sauce. What a delicious brunch!

For the waffles that everyone said was amazing, we got Choco-nut Waffles and this was a portion of perfectly cooked waffles with hazelnut and light & fluffy whipped cream. This was served with strawberries and banana which was super fun to just dip in the chocolate sauce!

We loved this place, the staff was so friendly and the food was amazing and perfect. We had a fantastic experience here and I have nothing negative to say at all.
