Starbucks – Banff, Alberta

We were strolling the streets in Banff, along Banff Avenue when we decided we would warm up with some festive drinks inside Starbucks. It’s a great location as it’s super busy but they’re pretty speedy about getting your drinks to you! I sat down and all I wanted was their new Chestnut Praline Latte which is a new seasonal favourite of mine as I use to love nothing more than their Eggnog Latte.

My husband enjoyed their Gingerbread Latte and he enjoyed it as it was really subtlety sweet and it actually has the taste of gingerbread cookies – which was excellent! Overall, this was the perfect place to warm ourselves up during this holiday season!

Starbucks (17 Avenue) – Calgary, Alberta

We found ourselves wandering around 17th Avenue when we decided to stop into Starbucks for some coffee. Located right on 17th Avenue where there’s a lot of traffic and foot traffic – and near a high school, it was busy as expected.

It was fall and I decided I was going to have a Maple Latte which is one of my fall favorites. The coffee wasn’t bad at all, but you can’t go wrong with anything with maple syprup!

We also ordered a Cheese Croissant and honestly it wasn’t that great. It was dry and it seemed old – which was weird as they’re so busy! Perhaps it was just coffee people were getting and not snacks/treats.

Overall, it was a nice place to sit and window watch with a nice cup of java (or alternative). The location is ideal but there are a lot of other coffee shops along the same street!

Starbucks – Hot Cocoa Classic

Lately, I’ve been looking for a decadent drink to melt stress away. I bought a canister of Starbucks – Hot Cocoa, which really seemed to work! This rich and delicious drink is simple to prepare and a pleasure to enjoy!

I heated some milk to try this classic hot cocoa mix, which I did in a cup for a few minutes in the microwave. I really wanted to try this, so I didn’t feel like spending the time boiling it in a pot. Once the milk was hot enough, I put about 1 1/2 tablespoon of the hot cooca mix into the hot milk.

It was rich, and creamy with decadent dark chocolate notes, and it coated my tongue perfectly with some cocoa! All I need is to purchase some marshmallows and this would be heavenly!

Starbucks Peppermint Hot Chocolate

Ah, the holiday season fills the air with excitement! But, not enough without the warming and soothing Peppermint Hot Chocolate drink from Starbucks. It’s always great to find a good caffeine alternative drink especially when in the crowded malls and parking lots. I’ve found this wonderful hot chocolate that is not only full of “energy” but with the refreshing mint, it’s great – and it’s from Starbucks!

This drink also looks great too – with the whipped cream and chocolate shavings, it definitely puts me into the festive spirit and much more easy going! I’ve always loved mint hot chocolate, and it’s been hard to find lately to have & make at home.
