Baker Boys – Cinnamon Twists

I love eating Cinnamon Buns and I’ve always been getting them as fresh as can be from Cinnzeo. Problems arise when I want a cinnamon bun, but the malls are closed — but now I realized the beauty of Baker Boys which is a sister company of Cinnzeo. Their products can be found from my local grocery store (opened till really late!) so I can enjoy them any time!

The particular store I visited had only 2 options, either the Cinnaroll or Cinnamon Twists and I chose to try the Cinnamon twists as the expiration date wasn’t as close! 🙂

I brought these foreign items home, zapped it in the microwave for 20 seconds, and it was delicious!! It’s almost as good as getting them freshly baked from Cinnzeo!! What a warm delicious snack! Thanks for advising me this exists in stores!!

Dairy Queen

The Dairy Queen at this location just opened not too long ago – maybe just a few month at this point now. I’ve been looking for the perfect time to go, and I finally did!

The store is really small actually, but it works as most people take their ice cream to go! This franchise location doesn’t do the grill – which was something I was hoping for, but they do have Orange Julius.

We were only here briefly as we just wanted a cold treat. I ordered my favourite, which is a pineapple sundae and the pineapples are always really sweet, even though I personally think the sauce (syrup) is a little to runny, it’s still a delicious treat on the soft serve ice cream!

We also ordered a Peanut Buster Parfait which was really large actually! It had lots of peanuts, and they use the lovely warm chocolate fudge. It’s a perfect snack to satisfy any craving! You can have a bit with as little or as much peanuts as you like, and the peanuts are the full sized nuts which is extra special (instead of using chopped peanuts).

I’m really happy that there is a Dairy Queen here in this area now! I was really hoping for one when we first moved here! Now, I’m satisfied!

Sukiyaki

I found myself inside Bankers Hall in Calgary one really sunny afternoon. I found myself in the food court looking for food as I was hungry. I ended up at the Sukiyaki looking for a nice bowl of noodle soup. They had the Beef Noodle Soup on special, so I grabbed that! I had the choice if I wanted it spicy or not, and I opted for spicy as I was looking for bold flavours.

The noodles were really good actually, and the beef stew was quite tasty. But, it was a really greasy bowl of noodles, as there was a thick layer of oil on top. It was really interesting as it was a lot like the traditional Chinese Beef Stew Noodle soup, but theirs had a lemon in it. It did help kill the grease though. I remember coming here at least 2 years ago and it was really tasty! Maybe they were just having an off day? I’m not sure…

Overall, it wasn’t bad, as the flavours were there! I’m sure it’s a popular choice for a nice cold, snowy, winter day!

Cinnzeo – Bacon Roll

I was first introduced to even the concept of Bacon Cinnamon Buns from Cinnzeo from Twitter. I thought it was only available at the Calgary Stampede Grounds and to my excitement when I saw it at Southcentre‘s Cinnzeo, I knew I had to try this roll of goodness!

At a first glance, it looks just like a normal cinnamon bun but as you cut into it, you’ll notice large chunks of bacon scattered throughout the bun! It’s a wonderful idea that Cinnzeo came up with! You get the saltiness from the bacon, and the sweetness from the icing – it’s nicely balance!

I like anything bacon, and I especially like cinnamon buns from Cinnzeo, so this is a great marriage of 2 things I love most! I would recommend this to anyone who likes both bacon and cinnamon buns! 🙂
