Bighorn Meadows Resort – Radium, BC

I’ve been very fortunate and got to take a weekend trip with my family to Radium, BC which is just over 3 hours (driving) away from Calgary where we stayed at the Bighorn Meadow Resort just off of their Main Street.

Here we stayed in a 2 bedroom suite which offers 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a dining area, kitchen and living space. It’s like a condo, but it’s a resort. Once we opened the door, we were greeted with a giant entrance way with tons of storage.

Then, in the master bedroom, it offered a giant king bed and an en-suite bath. The room itself has a TV in the room and the bathroom offered a rain shower head standup shower which is super sized! All the bathroom amenities was by Bath & Body which was really nice for the skin and nose!

The second bedroom was smaller but it had 2 single beds and instead of an en-suite, there was a general main bath just across the hallway that offered a giant corner soaker tub. Both the bathrooms are extremely spacious and luxurious. In the suite itself, there’s washers and dryers – so you can do laundry if you’re doing an extended stay!

The main living area was the best, with an electric fireplace, built in speaker, and really comfortable seating area – we sat and enjoyed some movies during our stay!

The kitchen was very impressive, with a full function kitchen, with dishes, pots and pans and your basic utensils, we even got to make ourselves breakfast during our stay. There is a dining area which seats 6 people comfortably as well.

Overall, our stay was more than we could ask for. It was spectacular and much more than we could have imaged! The resort does say there are movies that you can borrow, but it didn’t actually specify there’s a fee to borrow them – so just be careful! But, we left with tons of great memories and we hope to be back soon!

Courtyard Edmonton Downtown – Edmonton, AB

As odd as it sounds, I really enjoy going to Edmonton as a trip – not to live, but we were there this one time and stayed at Courtyard Edmonton Downtown which was at a beautiful location where you can see the river from our room. The only weird thing about this hotel was the one-way streets that makes it a little tricky to get to the hotel.

Our room was beautiful, with a large bathroom and shower/tub, it was really quite a memorable bathroom. It felt old, but it was nice! The picture below was taken from the area beside the bath tub/shower (so it is on the left).

The actual room was gorgeous as well, and very comfortable and spacious. We had 2 queen beds

Overall, the stay was spectacular and the view was unforgettable! We enjoyed our stay and look forward to our next overnight trip to Edmonton!

Brewster’s Mountain Lodge – Banff, AB

I love getting out of the city and just going to a small town or something like that. I know Banff has become a place with more tourists so the streets and roads are super busy. I still love going there and enjoying a night just to slow down the pace we have here in the city. We stayed twice now at Brewster’s Mountain Lodge and the location is ideal! Almost at the center of the busy streets, yet a street off Banff Ave – you can walk everywhere!

Parking is limited here, but it’s the least of my concerns as we typically just park the car and then go about on feet anyway. The rooms are quite rustic decorated with wood and arrows throughout the room, it’s quite a unique experience. The hotel offers a few amenities such as a hot tub and a lounge area complete with a computer, board games and books.

The room itself is a fair size. The beds are a little worn but it’s a bed! The bedsheets and blankets are quite comfortable as you definitely get a cabin feel when you’re in this room.

The bathroom and bathroom amenities were quite nice. It’s a great hotel and like mentioned we have stayed there twice already. I’m sure we’ll be back. It’s even got complimentary breakfast! Overall, it’s a wonderful stay and I look forward to my next stay here!

Aspen Village – Waterton Park, Alberta

Waterton Park has always been a place I wanted to go and explore and we finally did! We loved it here and we stayed overnight at the Aspen Village, but in their hotel, not cabins. It was really a neat place as you’re mixed in with the wild animals.

It was an older hotel for sure as they used keys for the room and it was just an old style room. It was clean and that’s what was most important to me. We were quite tired as we started our drive here after work, so we didn’t even get into town until 9pm but we were just too excited so everything was great! Our room had 2 double beds and your basic room amenities.

The room wasn’t anything special, but it was fine for where we were as it really fit the scene. There was a TV, desk, seating area and a chair!

The bathroom seemed the most run down, but like I said, it works and it’s clean – so never any complaints there!

Overall a great experience, waking up to elks outside our door – it was quite an adventure! We’ll be back to Waterton Parks for sure!

Holiday Inn Express & Suites – Everett, WA

We drove down to the states one weekend and made our way to Seattle, Washington. We had an overnight stay at Holiday Inn Express in Everett, just north of Seattle, but basically right there!

We checked into our standard room with a King bed and it was a decent hotel! A little run down but still very nice. The location was fantastic as it was just off the freeway! The bed in the hotel was large and comfortable.

The bathroom oddly I didn’t take a picture of, but you can see it in the room walk-through clip. They used Bath & Body work bathroom amenities which was extremely nice. Of course it left a great scent! The bath room was a good sized bathroom as well. The living area wasn’t bad in size either. The room had it’s own seating area, a vanity desk and a little kitchenette with a microwave, fridge and of course a kettle.

The hotel was great stop and just minutes to Seattle and if you go straight up the freeway, it will take you to the Canada/US border.
