Communitea Cafe – Canmore, Alberta

Now that I’ve been to Canmore a few times, I always go by Communitea and never go in. This time, we made the extra effort to go in and it was perfect!

The space was spacious, clean, and comfortable! I really enjoyed my time there, and I’m sure all their customers did too!! It’s the weirdest thing I’m about to say, but they made me the best chai tea latte I’ve ever had so far!! It was perfectly spiced, the texture was smooth, and I can go on and on! It was just really nice!

We also had a cup of London Fog and again, it was really smooth and delicious. It seemed to have hints of vanilla and ginger which was a really refreshing twist!

As this was an in-between meal stop, we only ordered 1 panini to share – The Westcoaster, which was the perfect amount as their panini’s are quite large! It was nicely toasted, filled with eggs, smoked salmon, dill cream cheese and spinach. The dill cream cheese was a little over powering, or there wasn’t enough smoked salmon. It was a great tasting panini, but I would either put less of the dill or more smoked salmon – then it would become top notch!

I am sure I will be back next time I’m in town! Just a great little place to sit down and enjoy some relaxing time pass by! I think I’ll try their steeped tea leaves as they have a huge selection and I do enjoy my tea leaves!

Quarry Dining Lounge – Canmore, Alberta

We found ourselves at Quarry’s one evening as everywhere we wanted to try was completely booked up. Quarrys was also booked up, but they gave us a seat at the bar which was really neat! I love watching bartenders mix up drinks!

The food service was really fast despite the mad rush they had! They warned us that our meals would take awhile, but we didn’t think it was bad at all. We started with their bread and it was very fresh! Nothing like fresh bread on any day!

I ordered their Panko Crusted Salmon and I loved the seafood here! The fish was fresh without having the fishy taste. The crispy crust wasn’t hard or dry or greasy! It was a perfectly executed and it was delicious.

My hubby ordered their Steak and to our delight, it was very tender with tons of flavour. The portion was very generous and prepared to perfection of the doneness of the steak. The fries was thin and not soggy.

We enjoyed ourselves a lot here, and so we ordered dessert, their Apple Tart with Vanilla Ice Cream. It was simple and delicious. Everything was perfect at our experience at the Quarry!

What an amazing place to go to for a delicious and simple meal!

Divine Cravings – Canmore, Alberta

Divine Cravings is a little crepe place in downtown Canmore that offers gluten-free options as their savory crepes are made with organic gluten-free buckwheat.

The crepes that you get are really large in size, and because they are made with buckwheat, it is brown which is kind of odd at first – if you didn’t know. I ordered the Western crepe which was filled with chicken, mushrooms, mozzarella cheese and bechamel sauce! It was really savory and delicious.

We also had a skier crepe, which was a crepe stuffed with ham and bacon, sausage, lettuce, tomatoes and cheddar cheese.

I normally do take information of the food of whoever I’m with, but I recall not feeling too good, and needing something in my tummy right away, so I ate right away – without any other worries. I felt a lot better afterwards, which makes divine cravings a good choice for that day since it wasn’t greasy!

Rocky Mountain Bagel Company – Canmore, Alberta

I heard lots of great things about the Rocky Mountain Bagel Company in Canmore! So, we woke up one day while we were staying out in Canmore and decided to try for ourselves. The places is very comfortable, and very welcoming!

We ordered 2 bagels and 2 hot chocolates, and were given a colored spoon to put on our table. When the order was ready, they would come by and give us our order. It was a really neat system they had. I found it hard to tell some spoons apart from others, but I guess they’re us to it!

The bagel sandwiches were really fresh! They’re amazing!! The bagels had a nice consistency and the sandwiches were fresh! I had the Mountaineer and that bagelwich was filled with Cream Cheese, Montreal Smoked Beef, and toppings like Lettuce, Tomato, and Onions.

The other sandwich that we ordered was the Smoked Turkey Bagelwich and that was delicious and fresh as well. The best part was the food was relatively inexpensive for what it was, and where it was too!

Gourmet Croissant – Canmore, Alberta

Gourmet Croissant is a neat little place that is on Bow Valley Trail (one of the main roads that runs through Canmore). We went in the early morning, just as it opened on a weekend. It was really quiet in the store, but a nice little comfortable location for sure!

I think as we were there soo early, they had nothing ready besides plain croissant and chocolate one. They didn’t have the sandwiches yet or something, but regardless, we ordered ourselves some plain croissants and some hot chocolate.

When we first got our croissant, we kind of giggled to ourselves, as it didn’t look flaky or much like anything for that matter! However, as we started eating it, it was really soft, a slight sweetness to the croissant, and it was crispy out the outside too. It turned out to be a really good croissant!! So, it is true – never judge a book by it’s cover! We were thoroughly impressed.

The hot chocolate looked spectacular, and of course tasted good. It’s quite hard to goof up on hot chocolate! 🙂 So, our overall experience at Gourmet Croissant was a positive one. I think I will return, but there are also soo many other great things I would love to try in Canmore! We’ll see!
