Maxwell House Instant Cafe – Belgian Hazelnut

A sweet hot treat is perfect when the weather starts getting cold. Instead of going to my local coffee house, I bring home some instant cafe mix from Maxwell House in a super delicious flavour which was Belgian Hazelnut. It’s nice as this isn’t too expensive (for a cup from my local coffee shop, I can make lots at home!) and it’s relatively convenient!

There are a few ways to enjoy this powder besides just mixing the beverage mix to either hot water or milk, but you can also add this to things like ice cream topping or even baking! So, it’s not only a delicious drink mix, but it’s versatile too!

Kraft MiO Liquid Water Enhancer – Strawberry Watermelon

I’ve been looking for a great alterative to powder to flavour up my drinks. Even though bottled flavoured water is great, I like the option of having it in my own cups/mugs without doing a transfer! My first MiO that I got to try was Strawberry Watermelon flavour, and I quite like it. For about $4.00 Canadian, the little bottle says you can get about 24 drinks. I find on some days, I like a subtle taste, so I use a lot less of the flavouring… where as other days, I almost want it like a juice, so I use more. Overall, it has lasted quite a long time, so it appears like a good deal. And, best of all, it has made me drink more water – which is the ultimate goal!

To use this product, I actually like to squirt the water enhancer in the bottom of my cup/mug first, and then pour the water in… so it mixes it for me! The bottle is quite well designed, where the flavours don’t pour out or anything. So, it’s great to travel with if you want. Only time something comes out is if you’re squeezing the bottle – which gets trickier when you’re near the bottom of the bottle. The flavour does squirt out quite a powerful stream, so be careful!

After the strawberry watermelon has been diluted with the amount of water you want, it’s a pretty colour and it tastes great! It is different than other water flavours, but not in a bad way, and it’s not too sweet! I don’t mind going out and trying more flavours!

Twinings – Royal Wedding Commemorative Blend Tea

So, I’ve had this tea for a while and tried it awhile ago, but I figured I’d say something about it since I started talking about it a while ago as well! This tea actually is really light and floral as of most white teas – this one is actually called special edition White Earl Grey!! I love this tin that holds the tea bags in, and the best part was inside the tin holds the box of tea bags – so the tin was actually clean!

It’s a tea that you don’t need to steep too long as it is quite delicate. I had this tea in a cup – as is (no milk, cream, sugar, honey or anything!) and it was really good! All I did was just place the tea bag into a cup, and pour boiling water on top! It’s simple and delicious!

This tea, it says it’s made of a blend of white tea, with the flavours of bergamot and rose petals – and you can definitely tell it’s floral once the tea steeps up with a hint of citrus from the bergamot! If you ask me, it almost has a slight ginger taste and smell to it which made this tea really relaxing and comforting on the cold evening I had it on.

Zellers Family Restaurant – Sundridge Mall

We got up early and we drove to Sunridge Mall just go to go to the Zellers diner which I was told it was the last one in the city that was opened now. When I was young, my mom use to take me to the exact same location for breakfast – so it was neat going back to the original diner I tried years ago. We actually got there right when they take the breakfast menu away, so I ordered Z’s Mile High burger with fries.

The burger was made of juicy beef burger topped with bacon, cheddar and swiss cheese, bbq sauce, onion right, with veggies. The burger was really tasty as the patty was actually really juicy – slathered with BBQ sauce. Then, as you can see in the picture, the burger was topped with a mile high of the condiments and the difference of texture of the onion right has taken this burger over the top! I love eating burgers and this one is one of the better ones. Too bad eventually this restaurant will be closing. On a happier note, my husband ordered a plate of Breaded Pork Cutlet which he enjoyed thoroughly!

This plate of food was a pork cutlet crusted with savoury schnitzel breading, with a side of mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. The pork cutlet breading was packed with tons of flavour, and even though it was a thin piece of pork, it wasn’t dry at all! It was quite enjoyable! Then, there is nothing I love more than mashed potatoes and gravy – so that was a plus on the plate. The mixed vegetables was cooked until the life was taken from the vegetables, as the didn’t even hold their shape anymore and the colours was completely pale. It was the only thing left on both of our plates at the end of our meal! Not bad!

Cheemo Perogies – Potato, Bacon and Romano Cheese

Breakfast time is a tough time for me to find something quick, hot and delicious! I like having a hot breakfast no matter how early in the day, and with a work shift starting at 6am, I still need to eat something hot and yummy!! I’ve found a solution that doesn’t take too long to make and tastes great too! It’s Cheemo Perogies which is a brand of perogies that I’ve loved since the beginning of my perogy eating days. I have fallen in love with Potato, Bacon and Romano Cheese perogies and when you bit into these little packages of goodness, you totally taste the bacon!

Nothing beats homemade or hand pinched perogies, but I don’t have time to make them. Cheemo perogies have the been the only brand that I can trust to make them for me that I can find comparable to homemade ones. The skin isn’t nearly as thick or tough as many other brands. After you cook the perogies, you can eat it as is, you can pan fry them, you can add toppings to it, you can do anything to them, and they’re awesome!
